The Moon in a Room™ idea started the year that I was home schooled as a 7th grader and the first year that I fasted Ramadan (2020). My younger cousins were living with us but they were too young to fast and we were longing to connect over modern Ramadan traditions. Sarah seemed never without a stuffed toy and Noor seemed never without a book and somehow the idea of combining the two alongside the spirit of Ramadan made a lot of sense. Our Moon was born. Ramadan is a time for reflection, joy, and giving. This special season invites us to share the light and love we are fortunate to have. We created the Moon Plush & Book Set to bring comfort and warmth to your home while spreading the spirit of giving to those who need it most.

Our journey started with a vision to create a product that would resonate with families, children, and anyone seeking meaningful Ramadan gifts. We combined a beautifully crafted moon plush, symbolizing peace and serenity, with a thoughtfully written children’s book that lightly narrates the meaning of Ramadan for young children helping to pass on the traditions of the holy month in an engaging way.

But the story didn’t stop there. Somewhere between the birth of this Ramadan tradition and producing it, I had an accident that took me through long months of care and rehabilitation. I was blessed to have access to proper healthcare that helped to nurse me back to full function. But I was painfully aware that not everyone had that same access both locally as well as globally, so I wanted this project to do more. I wanted it to help young people heal like I was able to heal. With every set sold, a portion of the proceeds goes toward a cause that’s close to our hearts — the health and wellbeing of at-risk children globally. In partnership with dedicated health initiatives, we aim to provide children with access to healthcare, nutritious food, and emotional support during critical times in their lives.
